I agree with a lot of what you're saying. Choosing a movie character as a confirmation name seems either a) immature (not necessarily for spite. but out of the same instinct where my cousin thinks her new sister's name should be glitter.) or b) not taking it seriously. Which is your point, that the name is the rebellion?

I was also thinking that confirmation ages depend on the church, sometimes. I was a junior in high school when I was confirmed and I wasn't forced, though I'm sure some kids were, but at least at that age you have a higher level of autonomy. Then again, there's a lot with Catholicism I disagree with-- then and now.

That was really brave of you, and your decision should have been respected. I don't religion should be forced on anyone since it seems to contradictory to the point.
