"You have the freak flag... you just don't fly it. "
"The Family Stone".. one of the best christmas/family movies I've seen in a long long time!
stefsoleil both came out of the theater with tears in our eyes and a smile on our faces!
Sarah Jessica Parker plays Carrie, though she's called Meredith in the movie *lol*..
Near the end, one could speak of a "showdown" I nearly choked cos I laughed AND cried so hard.
Unbelievable. I never expected it to be that good! Wonderfully cast, even the smallest supporting role.
*First Luke Wilson and then Dermot Mulrony CRYING, really sobbing over their mum's sickness?! OMG if there was a crying oscar they'd both deserve it.. and I so have a thing for emo, crying men ..
*I never expected the "couple-change" to work out so well. I was like, ok and now he is going for the other sister and the sister for his brother?! Hold on.. But it worked!
*... and SJP and Luke Wilson NOT having that "OMG-I-am-so-in-love-I-have-to-snog-you-like-there's-no-tomorrow"-moment.. But just sharing that moment on the bed? Beautiful!
*the discussion about gay children made me shiver AND cry.. I felt so sorry for all people on that table, even Meredith.. and I totally felt like I sat amongst them and was really scared when Dad Stone started shouting at her..INTENSE!!
*it wasn't even a sad moment, but I was so emotionally taken by that scene I had tears streaming down my face from there on..
