Re. Ipod

All you ipod fanatics.. and I know there are a lot of you on my flist..
Please share all the DO's and DON'Ts!!!
So far I've installed the SOftware on the laptop, and connected my baby to it.. Screen says, please don't disconnect.. Should I just wait until it is fully charged??

If you disconnect it early the first couple of times you charge it it'll cause you to loose battery power pretty quickly for the remainder of the batter life. >O

I don't know about the first time, but it will always say that until you eject the hardware. If you have a PC, you have to click on the little icon you'd use to eject a CD or a datastick; if you have a Mac, just drag the iPod symbol on the desktop down to the trashcan/eject arrow. Eventually the "Do Not Disconnect" screen will disappear, and the regular front-page menu of your iPod will appear. Then it's safe to disconnect.

:-)

yeah, it'll tell you in iTunes that it is OK to disconnect and when it's also done updating the library itll be all normal again apart from with a cute little charging symbol on the batter. And when its done that;ll change to a little plug sign omg its so cute ;_;

This is how it works on my PC at work... (I suck at describing this kind of thing, sorry in advance! *g*)

Okay, you know how there's a line of little bitty icons along the bottom of the screen on the right? There should be one there that looks like a little green arrow (pointing left) hovering over a gray rectangle. That's the "eject hardware" button. If you left-click on it, it'll display the name of any hardware currently attached to your system (the iPod). Just click on the name of the iPod in the display, and after a second a window will pop up saying "It is now safe to remove your hardware from the system" or something like that.

when I put in my USB-Stick it says 'Hardware sicher entfernen'... if that helps you in any way ;) *is excited about getting hers in about a week*

if you like to disconnect it before it's fully charge.. just klick in Itunes on the little arrows that are next to your Ipod name (in the wiedergabe listen fenster :) ) .. than just plug it out!

With my old iPod, I used to pull it out sometimes before ive disconnected mainly because it was slow sometimes and stuff and im so unpatient. So basically. It sometimes totally deleted everything on the iPod. Which sucks.
