"The Cloud"

My only German entry in a long time was brought to you by ultimate tiredness and a movie that had a huge imotional impact on me.
"Die Wolke"  ( The Cloud) is about the "breakdown of a nuclear power station in Germany and the story of two teenager-lovers Hannah and Elmar who take refuge. 38.000 people die and Hannah unfortunately becomes contaminated."

I didnt even wanna see the movie, blame it on ignorance.. But both my mum and Tom had read the book and said it was truly important to see the film.
Both leading actors were completly new to me, but blew me away.

Their love story is beautifully written and acted. Elmar seems to be the boyfriend everyone wants to have. He shows such an unconditional love for Hanna, who loses everything in such a brutally way.
The scene where her little brother dies in a car accident due to the whole panic that arises is just horrifiying!
 

And then the thought about the truth that the movie tells.. There are nuclear power stations in germany and there have been 114 reported smaller "accidents" alone in 2004..
This could really happen to us. And that scares me.
That fear combined with the emotional power of the movie won't let go....

Du kannst den Film also empfehlen? Ich überlege nämlich noch, ob ich den sehen möchte oder nicht. Hab die Vorschau gesehen und da hab ich mir überlegt entweder der Film oder ich kauf mir das Buch. Oder vielleicht beides???

Ich hab das Buch erst vor ein paar Wochen gelesen, es gehört zu der Jugend- und Kinderbuchreihe der Süddeutschen. Das Buch hat mich echt fertig gemacht (die Szene mit dem Bruder ?). Als ich von der Liebesgeschichte in der Kinozeitung laß, war ich eigentlich schon wieder sauer. Im Buch steht sie ganz alleine da ohne Liebe im Rücken. Vielleicht guck ich mir den Film doch an.

Mir gehts da im Moment noch so wie es dir vorher ging. Ich hab die Vorschau von dem Film gesehen und dachte mir nur "blah".. Vorallem weil ich bis jetzt kaum einen deutschen Film gesehen hab der mich wirklich begeistert hat.

Aber nach deine Post jetzt denk ich wirklich nochmal drüber nach ihn mir anzuschauen. :)

der film ist echt total schockierend, im positiven sinn! ich bin mit der autorin von dem buch, gudrun pausewang, befreundet und wir haben darüber schon stundenlang diskutiert. Ist übrigens auch ne tolle Frau mit einem echt interessanten haus.

wie ist das denn im wolke-film, gehts da auch um die characktere aus dem buch? ich erinner mich da irgendwie an ein mädchen mit nem kleinen bruder den sie im feld begraben muss auf der flucht..oder?

wenns da um ne teenage-lovestory geht???

Der sieht ja wirklich süß aus! Kann ich nach dem Film nicht mehr schlafen? Dann gucke ich ihn nicht ... ich habe ja das Buch gelesen, man kann mich also nicht als ignorant bezeichnen ;-)

@nora ja gudrun pausewang ist schon 76, aber ne ganz arg liebe, so ne richtige Bilderbuchoma. Sie hat mich im Sommer mal für ein Wochenende zu sich nach Hause eingeladen (wohnt bei Fulda)..ein echt krasses haus und eine echt krasse frau :-) aber total nett.
