Mallorca knowledge anyone??!

Fellow Europeans ( or are there any others on my flist that know Mallorca?)..
Tom and I are thinking about spending a week on Mallorca in February. We've never been there, so we have zero knowledge about where to go and more important WHERE NOT TO GO!!
I have heard so many good but also so many bad things about those booze-trips..
We want something nice and quite, but not too quite.
Preferably with a beach nearby ..
Maybe you also know a clean hotel that's not too expensive?

I've tried mallorca.de, but it's all far too positive on that site *lol*

Oii, Mallorca ist toll! War damals in Port d`Andrax (das ist an der Westküste und nicht weit von Palma entfernt). War ein sehr nettes Örtchen, aber eher ruhig. Die Frage ist eben wie schon Anja geschrieben hat nur die, ob ihr eher Erholung oder eher Party bzw. Action haben wollt. Ich kann nur nicht raten ein Hotel direkt am Ballermann in El Arenal zu nehmen. Die meisten Unterkünfte in dem Ort sind doch ganz schön runtergekommen und es ist sehr laut.
Mallorca ist auf jeden Fall aber eine Reise wert, du brauchst auch noch nicht mal Spanisch oder sonstwas können, die halbe Insel spricht Deutsch bzw. ist in deutscher Hand.
