Can someone of you tell me about shipping costs for, say, a parcel from the US to Germany..( or guide me to a place where I can find out about it )

amazon.com charges a lot for shipping and handling, so I thought about ordering stuff and sending it to someone on my flist ( any volunteers?), who then sends it on to me..
Is that cheaper?

I'd pay 4,49 general shipping PLUS 2,49 per item!!
