What a fantastic concert that was. Especially compared to the James Blunt one.
A small club with a small stage, a good audience and a funny,cheery singer.
He only had a percussion/backing vocal girl with him, who, too has that gorgeous australien accent that made me smile throughout the evening!
Someone cheered "Happy Australia Day" and Ben smiled and wanted people to ask questions.. He regret that, when some guy shouted "What happened to your hair?" and he looked confused "Right now? Or in general?" and the hair-thing became the running gag of the night.
He sang a cute song about Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, during which he forgot the lyrics and had Lara, the backing vocal girl( who was backstage at the time) save him, shouting them from behind the curtain *lol*
The daughter he's gonna have someday is gonna get the whole Sinead O'Conner back-cataloug, "after it comes out of the womb, and I cut the umbilical cord". What a weird picture.. I saw him with gloves on his hands, a newborn on the mother's chests and he takes all those records out of his bag. Hilarious..
He did a Sinead O'Conner cover, then, of course.
Other highlights were "Catch my disease", for which he forced a guy to come on stage, get on his knees and let Lara put her mini-piano-thingy on him, cos they didnt have a stand for it..
Close to the end he walked through the audience and jumped on the bar, where he played the last two songs. "We're all in this together" and "Whatever it is".
He stayed right at the bar, next to his merchandise table and omg, I did it again..

stefsoleil forced me too. I would've gone home without an autograph and a pic with Ben Lee .. Seriously.. I was tired as hell and I knew I had to get up at 5..
But he just sat there talking to people and was soooo friendly and cute..
