so.. thanks for all the opinions in the poll.
i even dreamed about mobiles!
scary

the good thing about polls is, that you kinda make the decision yourself, but building it on the poll in a different way :).. cos i though with every vote the nokia phone got, that i really really wanted the samsung sgh d500..
so i looked around a little more, tried said phone in the shop and called my mobile server to prolong my contract.
they even gave me a students discount, cos i've been with the server for a long time..
cant wait for the phone now.. it has a mp3 player and digital camera AND it takes clips :D

for [livejournal.com profile] theshapeshifter ( had to think about this a really really long time.."
the top 5 german movies every non-german should've seen:

5. Knocking on heaven's door (1997)
Two young men, Martin and Rudi, both suffering from terminal cancer, get to know each other in a hospital room. They drown their desperation in Tequila and decide to take one last trip to the sea. Drunk and still in pajamas they steal the first fancy car they find, a 60's Mercedes convertible. The car happens to belong to a bunch of gangsters, which immediately start to chase it, since it contains more than the pistol Martin finds in the glove box.
a teary-eyed comedy with some of germans best and well known actors.

4. Was tun wenn's brennt? (2001) ( vague translation: What to do in case of fire?... answer in the film : LET IT BURN ;S)
humorous and touching story of six former creative anarchists who lived as house squatters in Berlin during its heyday in the 80s when Berlin was still an island in the middle of the former eastern Germany. At the end of the 80s they went their separate ways with the exception of Tim and Hotte, who have remained true to their ideals and continue to fight the issues they did as a group. In 2000, with Berlin as Germany's new capital, an event happens forcing the group out of existential reason to reunite and, ultimately, come to grips with the reason they separated 12 years ago.
the film gives you a brilliant view of anarchist berlin :D

3.Männer wie wir (2004) (men like us)
Ecki is goalkeeper for the soccer-team in his small hometown in Germany (near Dortmund). After losing an important game, his mates accidentally find out that he is gay. They throw him out of the team. Out of anger and hurt he dares them to play against a gay team. Ecki has only four weeks to build this team and train them.
The movie plays with clichés in a hilarious and yet pleasant way. Good looking guys, leather and chains, love, revenge, and soccer. Witty dialogues and good action. Highly recommended.

and omg david rott in the hottest elevator love scene...

2.Sommersturm (2004) ("Summer storm".. seems to be coming to a few US cinemas this year!!)
Tobi and Achim have been best friends for years. They have helped their team win several rowing cups in the past and are now looking forward to the big regatta in the countryside. But, this trip is no summer camp and the first problems soon arise. As Achim's relationship with his girlfriend grows more serious, Tobi starts to realize that his feelings for Achim run deeper than he's willing to admit to himself. He feels confused, unsure of himself and increasingly left out. When the much-anticipated Berlin girls' team is being replaced by a team of athletic, cliché-busting young gay men, Tobi and his teammates are suddenly forced to grapple with their prejudices, their fears, and, perhaps, their hidden longings. As the tension grows, Tobi, Achim and the others head toward a confrontation as fierce and ultimately as liberating as the summer storm gathering over the lake.
wonderful coming out movie, also playing with clichés, but in a warm-hearted, lovely way :D

1.Der Krieger und die Kaiserin (2000) "The warrior and the empress"
Young nurse Sissi lives a secluded life, seemingly entirely devoted to her patients at Birkenhof asylum. Her first encounter with ex-soldier and drifter Bodo has a lasting impact. He causes an accident that results in her lying under a truck, unable to breathe. While he provides life-saving first aid, mesmerized Sissi begins to wonder whether he may be the man of her dreams. But when she tracks him down weeks later her affection is rejected, as Bodo is stuck somewhere between a traumatic past and a criminal future.
franka potente and benno fürmann blew me away in this movie..*sigh*

these are some of MY fav movies.. there might be many others that are worth seeing and that present the great german movie-scene, that sometimes exists.. "goodbye lenin" or "the downfall" , show a brilliant view on the german culture or history..
