Munich Day 1
Dec. 15th, 2005 06:40 am![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
so.. the Munich trip..(with
blavandgirls photos, I hope you don't mind)
As most of you know those things scare me, and I'm working on it in therapy, so just flying out somewhere with a friend isn't as easy for me as it could be..
But the flight was quite alright.
We had our fun moments
and knew right then we should've written them down, cos I forgot about them already *lol*
After an hour we landed in Munich and found our way to the S-Bahn and to the hotel..
Room was ok. Cleanliness being the most important thing for me ..
We got ready
and waited for
skylar_muc and
the_flo who were coming round for a short pre-concert visit.
Funny discussions about James Blunt and Robbie Williams and also two more people telling us about the Munich audiences being the most boring and prolly harmless audience..
uhm yes..
Munich was also fucking cold, so I was glad we only arrived 45 minutes before the doors opened. And it looked like Angelika and Flo were right.
The people waiting with us looked quite young and nice. There were even teens with their parents.
Doors opened, we brough our jackets to the cloak room and taadaaa.. second row on the left right in front of Nick's mic was still available *lol*
I really expected moer people to run inside. We sat down on the floor ( concert experience *lol*)and were still convinced that the audience was just full of girls and under-age boys ..
Nice one, Paul! Annika already called the number. It's a voicemail-box!
"The Rakes" were brilliant! It was sooo cool to see their mad-dancing singer Alan again .. Bob and Paul were also watching from the side.
And I cannot say it often enough - I had so much space, noone was pushing or anything.
What can I say.. As soon as Franz Ferdinand came on stage hell broke loose. HUGE men, most of them drunk, all of them sweaty were crushing into us from behind. Some crazy girls wouldn't stop screaming their lungs out, thinking they were seeing a boyband..
I tried jumping along with the crowd, which usually works, but I truly feared for my life this time.
I was pushed against Annika by this guy screaming at Nick "Nick, Niiiiiiick NIIIIIICK, Rocco ist auch hier! WOOOHOOOO" ( "Rocco is here, too ). I tried to pinch him at my fav spot under the arm, close to the pit ( lolz) but nothing happened.
Annika and I both thought it would calm down a little after the first song, but it never did.
I was pushed and pulled and crushed and crashed and didnt manage to stay with Annika..
I can't remeber exactly when it happened, but there lots of crowd surfers.. And one simply kicked me in the face.
It hurt but I didnt expect my nose to start bleeding instantly. I felt something moist, looked down on my pink trainers and there it was .. dripping and dripping on my shows.. then runnning down.
WONDERFUL. A woman noticed ( YES.. in all the craziness!!) gave me a tissue and I tried getting out like a maniac.
I sat in the restrooms for a few minutes waiting for the bleeding to stop, and when it finally did, I made my way back to the side of the stage.

All in all there is no way I could tell you about my fav moment or my fav song of the show. I cannot tell you which song came first or last or what Nick said to introduce Alex.
We had expected more interaction with Nick as he only moved away from here 4 years ago and as his birthday was just an hour away..
I think he dedicated one or even two songs to some friends ( .. oh one was Take me out! I remember ) and gave someone the finger but that was about it.
When I found Annika, after the show had ended she looked like she had just drowned in a pool.
She was soaked from head to toe ( is it still numb? the toe?)..no kidding.. ALL WET with her own and other peoples stinky sweat.. EWWWWWWW
After the Berlin show we just had the luck to be in the right place to meet the guys, which seemed impossible this time, as the aftershow party and birthday party seemed to take place backstage and it was far too freezing cold to wait outside :/
What can I say? It probably was a fucking awesome concert, only I wasn't able to notice ...

Date: 2005-12-15 01:20 pm (UTC)1. Your pink shirt and black tie made me fucking SQUEE. Nice outfit!
2. Your experience makes me reconsider plans to maybe go over to see Franzies in Europe in the spring. They seem to play bigger theaters than they do in the States-theaters so big that they would NEVER be general admission here, which makes me hesitant, as I'm not a big fan of general admission anyway. I saw them at a real theater with assigned seating-and I'm hoping that's the sort of venue they'll play when they come back.
3. This picture?

Fucking AWESOME.
4. Usually when a band plays "hometown", it's harder to meet them, just because of the onslaught of their friends and relations at the show capturing their attention. Still...Franzies are such a fan-tastic (ha, see what I did?) band that I'd thought they'd have at least come out for a bit.
Sorry you didn't have a great time, hopefully the next time you see them will be better-and you can always tell them the story about Munich to win sympathy hugs. ;)
