1) "Works" magazine is brilliant. It combines TV, Movies and Music in a brilliant magazine. Little geek factor, here :D

Did you know that the last three in the audition process for the lead in Moulin Rouge were Ewan, Jake Gyllenhall and Heath Ledger???!!

2) Doctor Who.. so many people on my flist love it. So, why would you recommend it?
To the people on my flist who know me a little and know the show: Would it be something I could get into??

I'm not sure if you'd like Doctor Who, but you should definitely give it a try. Personally, I love it because it has just the right mix of everything - it's very funny and exciting and dramatic, but it also has its more quiet and sad moments. And while the show is not about romance, it is very shippy (both for het and slash) and has one of my OTPs and the OT3est of OT3s *points to icon* - the interactions between the characters alone make it worth watching. /gushing

(Just speaking for the Ninth Doctor, here - I'm only starting to catch up on older seasons.)
